S - HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY VANESSA!

For my friend Vanessa's Birthday, I decided to try out a photo project idea that I've had for a while. The basic idea is that I called up / e-mailed all of Vanessa's friends that I knew and a few that I didn't and got them to cooperate in this photo project. Each person got to choose a letter or number from the words HAPPY 26TH BIRTHDAY VANESSA! and take a picture with that letter. I then printed all the photos and pasted them to little boards and had the people in the picture write a message on the back. All of these boards were later bound into a book and given to Vanessa on her birthday... If you think this is hard to understand try explaining it in Japanese about 20 times ;D

This S features Shizuka-chan

I first met Shizuka-chan at one of the schools I work at. She was one of the few people kind enough to attempt talking to me when I first arrived, and invited me to help out in the school farm/garden and to play badminton after school, as well as many other random activities. She later invited my mother and I over to her house to experience mochi-making. Shizuka-chan dabbles in just about everything, and once she tries something she doesn't quit till she is a pro. This summer Shizuka-chan lent Vanessa and I part of her farm in which to grow things like corn, sunflowers, mini-tomatoes and a variety of other vegetables. While ideally I wanted to take a picture of her in the garden, she insisted on wearing a Kimono and taking photos with photos in the front yard. With the strict instructions to make her beautiful we set out to do just that. I hope this photo meets her demands ;D
