Lillian is a Maiko 3!!!

More of Lillian.

The package Lillian chose allowed for her to have a 15 minute excursion in which I was able to take pictures - as well as everyone else who she passed by.

A few things I was impressed by were the 'guide's' ability to stay out of photos - something I didn't appreciate until I was looking over the photos just now, as well as her comments to fellow tourists taking pictures with Lillian letting them know that Lillian was trying the clothes on, and was not the genuine thing. The place we went to was very professional about all of that - no going outside unless you have been done up the whole way with wig etc. and no going outside if you are a man crossdressing as a Maiko or Geisha. So basically - you are free to be as silly as you like - but not in the streets where the image of the Geisha and Maiko is to be upheld.

We were lucky enough to have sun and blue sky make an appearance during our walk - but I found it a little silly that for the extra money you paid to go outside - you could only literally go around the corner. We were able to take photos in front of the shrine - but not actually inside of it, the reason being that it was likely Lillian would cause serious injury to herself if she attempted to go up and stairs in the shoes given to her.
