Actually no clue what this bird is. This is a photo from back in February when I went on a trip with the town hall to a bird sanctuary. There is at least one more photo back that I posted a while back from this place. Birds land on your arms etc. generally was far too much fun! Highly recommended.
Ps. just in case anyone noticed I went back and cleaned up some of the white specks that apparently were floating in the water =)
In other news I am quickly approaching the 100 photo mark on this blog. Am taking it a bit more seriously recently and it has been really fun!! Thanks again for comments. =D here's to much more to come!
Thanks for stopping by! I absolutely <3 comments so if you have a moment let me know what you think!
Thanks, Nicole in Japan

@Ekaputra Tupamahu: Thanks - I darkened the color of the water quite a bit, but it was naturally a nice color. Thanks for stopping by! =D
Wow, really a different angle, amazing colors, crystal sharp image well done

@Mithun: Thanks so much! the different angle comes from the duck being in a pond in a bird sanctuary - so easy to get closer than usual and stand above. The colors and sharpness are all thanks to Lightroom (tm)- I <3 the "Clarity" controls.
Hi Nicole, congrats on the 100 mark. Nice shot, love the color and where you positioned the duck.
@Howard F.: Thanks! only 3 more photos to go. Am so tempted to suddenly fill in gaps of days not posted months ago but am holding out till 100 XD. I like this one quite a bit myself, especially the black contrast of the water in the upper corner.
Beautiful cours.Nicole, has you ever eared the Tm " Mandarina Duck" ?.Well, That´s it.

@moonstruck: Yup, apparently this is a mandarin duck. Now I know ; D Thanks for the comment.
This is an exquisite image! There's so much to like: The composition is awesome. I like how there's a hint of a ripple around him. Those subtle waves add texture to what would otherwise seem like a flat image! Great job! =-)

@Laurie: Thanks so much. I was quite surprised myself by all the details and ripples when I started darkening the image in the editing stage. Thanks so much for the comment and overall compliments!
wow. so crisp and such rich colors. wonderful image! love the water reflective texture in the top left!

@dj.tigersprout: Thanks so much! I'm a fan of that top left portion as well. It really showed up when I darkened the colors and upped the contrast.
The colours and the contrast are really outstanding.

amazing colors...such clarity...
12 Jun 2008 2:06pm
@April: Thanks! I owe it all to the 'clarity' and 'contrast' functions of Adobe lightroom. Seriously an amazing program.
