Oh Japan....Posted by Nicole (Komono, Japan) on 7 March 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. I was sitting watching the 6th graders goodbye presentation day when I realized that it's been a while since I thought to myself... Japan is odd. I've only lived in Japan for a total of about 13 months, but I've come to the conclusion that no matter how normal life here becomes for me, I'll never be completely integrated. I will always be foreign in the way that shoes lined up after being taken off to get on to a carpet on the gym floor that is covered with green plastic entertains me. A Japanese person won't blink at the ceremony of taking off indoor school shoes in order to put on special indoor gym shoes to walk 10 feet to take them off again in order to sit on a carpet... And a Japanese person won't feel that it's odd at all to look across a sea of black hair. There are some things I'll never quite get used to. Prints are now available for purchase!! I am in the process of uploading photos to the above site to be available for purchase. If there is any specific image that you would like to become available, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for stopping by!
