Blurry Fireworks

Posted by Nicole (Komono, Japan) on 25 August 2007 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

I should start a category for accidental photographs or something; I seem to have enough of them. Basically for the previous shot, I knew that the camera was going to have issues focusing in the dark automatically, so I swtiched it to manual focus after focusing to keep it focused on one spot while I ran into the frame. I forgot to take the camera off of manual and back on to auto when taking the next few shots of Vanessa running around with sparks from her 花火 (hanabi / はなび). That is the Japanese word for fireworks. The first character means flower, the second means fire. = fire flower. Very pretty name isn't it?
